A treasure crate in the shipwreck.
Gives you the ability to store materials, equipment, and supplies. Items can be stored in various crates or Backpacks.
Constructed containers (Storage Crate, Locker Storage, Locker T2) can be labelled with a short descriptor (max. 20 characters). Descriptor labels can contain basic HTML formatting (see signs).
Generated Storage[]
Storage Crate[]
Dark Blue crate created by the player (capacity 15 items), approximately twice as long as it is wide or tall. Identical in appearance to the Treasure Crates (see below) found across the map, the player may only construct these on level, constructed, ground.
Also identical in appearance to the so-called "DEATH CRATES" generated when a player dies at most difficultly levels. Those disappear when all the contents are taken out. Note: Once the game is saved, they will not disappear the next time the game is loaded.
Requirements
- This can be constructed once the
Microchip - Construction is equipped.
- Must be crafted on a Foundation Grid or in a (Big) Living Compartment. Once more advanced buildings are available they may also potentially house Crates.
Cost
- 1 x
Iron
Locker Storage[]
Large storage container (capacity 35 items), grey in color with yellow handles. Covers marginally more floor space than the Storage Crate and appears to be about three times the height.
Requirements
- Unlocks when
Terraformation Index score reaches 50.00 kTi.
Cost
- 3 x
Iron
Safe Vault[]
Larger storage container (capacity 48 items), grey and black in color with a circular gold handle and no text bar. Covers marginally more floor space, and is slightly taller, than the Locker Storage. Is a craftable version of the Big Safe found in procedural wrecks.

- Available by decoding the recipe-specific
blueprint microchip found in procedural wrecks.
Cost
- 1 x
Super Alloy Rod
T2 Locker Storage[]
Larger storage container (capacity 80 items) sci-fi looking with a text bar on it. Can not be found in wrecks and must be built using Microchip - Construction. Can be placed on Living Compartment, Foundation Grid, on the ground and other advanced structures (T2 Aquarium, Biodome, T2 Biodome, Biolab, and the Butterfly Dome).
Requirements
- Unlocked by purchasing the blueprint from the trading rocket for 5000
Terra Tokens and decoding it on the blueprints screen.
Cost
- 1 x
Circuit Board
- 2 x
Super Alloy
Golden Crate[]
Looks basically identical to the normal Storage Crate aside from the Golden color. Found in assorted locations around the map, usually hidden in some way. Has no more capacity, but tends to have better items.
Requirements
- Could be built for a short time during the 0.3 beta, where it was unlocked through a blueprint microchip. The ability to naturally unlock it in-game was removed on EA release of 0.4.004, but it could still be unlocked by save editing until 0.9.005.
Components
- 1 x
Aluminum
- 1 x
Super Alloy
Canister[]
A very small storage that can only store 1 item inside. Cannot be built and is only found inside wrecks. Usually have Blueprint microchips stored in them.
Components When deconstructed:
- 1 x
Iron
Treasure Crates[]
These may be found in wrecks and/or bunkers, as well as embedded in the ground across the planet. Nearly identical in appearance to the Storage Crates that the player can construct (see above), the capacity varies as much as 12 to 25 slots. Found crates do not have the black label box.
Loot table[]
The items in the contents are fixed for some (0-5) of the first slots, but the remaining slots are filled with random items (It may be a blank slot).
Note: Bolded items are newly added as the stage goes up.

The contents of the same crate opened at different Terraformation stages.
Notes[]
- The
Blueprint microchip can be obtained at any point in the game. Since loot is random, it is very common to end up with more chips than needed to unlock all blueprints.
Decorative Storage[]
Countertop[]
A counter with 2 door (capacity 25 items).
Requirements
- Available by decoding the recipe-specific
blueprint microchip found in procedural wrecks.
Cost
- 2 x

A counter with 2 drawers (capacity 25 items).
Requirements
- Available by decoding the recipe-specific
blueprint microchip found in procedural wrecks.
Cost
- 2 x

Fridge[]
An refrigerator (capacity 30 items).
Requirements
- Available by decoding the recipe-specific
blueprint microchip found in procedural wrecks.
Cost
- 1 x
Super Alloy
- 1 x
Methane cartridge
- 1 x
Cobalt
Trash Can[]
A small trash can (capacity 15 items).
Requirements
- Available by decoding the recipe-specific
blueprint microchip found in procedural wrecks.

Big Safe[]
Large storage container, grey in color with a yellow wheel in front. Mostly hidden in restricted areas of wrecks. Also found in procedural wrecks on the main map or reached by using a Portal Generator. Holds valuable items like
Terra Tokens.
Requirements
Can neither be built nor deconstructed.
Five wrecks in the game contain fusion reactors and therefore big safes:
- Cirella-IV (323:50:978)
- Space Warp Gate (1572:83:-601)
- Battleship (1535:18:1294)
- Cinitat-II (-1325:85:435)
- Spaceship in the Volcano area (-1101:120:-709)
Later in the game you'll unlock other ways to find more big safes, these ones will be procedurally generated on the main map and through the use of the Portal Generator.
Spacesuits Locker[]
The Spacesuits Locker is a special container found in ordinary wrecks, not in procedural ones. It looks more or less like a standard locker, but is marked with a spacesuit and three hangers. It contains up to four random spacesuits.
Requirements
Can neither be built nor deconstructed.
