Pulsar Quartz

Pulsar Quartz is a gatherable resource item used in the later stages of the game. It can not be mined automatically with any tier of the Ore Extractor.

Obtaining[]

Pulsar Quartz can be:

Found in crates after reaching the Trees stage (2 GTi ).
Found on the ground in the Pulsar Quartz Caves.
Found on the ground in the Meteor Field, and atop the Waterfall.
Retrieved from Purple Meteor impact sites (unlocked at 8 GTi ).
Crafted in the Biolab (unlocked at 175 GTi ).
Fabricated by an Auto-Crafter after the recipe is unlocked.
Found in crates in Portal Generator areas (unlocked at 250 GTi ).
Found on the ground in two separate parts of the Rainbow Caves.

Trivia[]

Between versions 0.4.010 and 0.4.014 (part of the Caves and Crater update), the biolab recipe to craft Pulsar Quartz was removed since one of its ingredients, Zeolite, was made mineable with an T2 Ore Extractor. The recipe was re-added due to popular demand from the community, albeit at a later point in the tech sequence.
- The Pulsar Shard.
  
  During this time, Pulsar Shards were found in Treasure Crates upon reaching enough Terraformation Index. These shards could be combined into a Pulsar Quartz (unconfirmed) or used to fuel teleporters. They were removed from loot lists in 0.4.014 due to Pulsar Quartz again becoming craftable, and the use cost being removed from teleporters.
Pulsar Quartz dropped on the ground by the player or a meteor event is a single crystal, but Pulsar Quartz found on the ground is a cluster of several crystals.
A pulsar is a type of neutron star which emits beams of radio energy from its magnetic poles. As it spins, the beams sweep through space, appearing as a pulsing radio source if the beams pass over the earth.
