Pressure is one of the three (initial) categories that increases the Terraformation Index score.
Pressure can be increased by building machines, and launching rockets.

The units used in the game are the pascal (standard SI unit of pressure) with SI fractional prefixes:
- Nano pascal (nPa, 10−9 pascal, or 0.000000001 Pa). This is the base unit for early machines and contributing to the Terraformation Index.
- Micro pascal (µPa, 10−6 pascal, or 0.000001 Pa, or a millionth of a Pa)
- Millipascal (mPa, 10−3 pascal, or 0.001 Pa, or 1/1000 Pa)

Since the planet's sky was originally red and dusty, rather than the starry black of vacuum, it can be assumed these numbers are not absolute, but merely measure the difference that Convict GP-8971-L has made from whatever the planet's original air pressure was.
Earth Standard atmospheric pressure is 101,325 Pa (101 kPa).
Pressure is closely related to phase change temperatures of water in reality. Lower the pressure gets, further the boiling temperature of the water drops. If it gets under 611.6 Pa, ice bypass liquid state and sublimates into gaseous form.
