This article is about the official, developer-supported multiplayer feature. For the unofficial fan-developed multiplayer method, see Modding.

Multiplayer (or Co-op) is a new game mode that was added to Planet Crafter in version 1.0, released on April 10th 2024. This new feature was revealed in a developer post on December 1, 2023. The multiplayer mode supports up to 10 players.

Developers had this to say about the new mode:

"We knew that exploring and terraforming a planet would be as fun with friends [than] it is doing it alone. So we started working on it at the beginning of 2023 and are confident we can deliver this new mode during 2024. We won't share an official date yet, as we are still balancing and ironing things out.

This doesn't mean we will shift our focus from the solo experience. we will continue updating the game to add content the same way we did it during the last year, and these two modes will compliment each other to improve the Planet Crafter experience".
