Machines are buildable structures that can do a multitude of different tasks. Some types of machines have higher-tier versions that are unlocked by increasing the Terraformation Index (Ti) (whether in general, or a specific sub-track). Machines are capable of providing a passive generation of
Oxygen,
Heat,
Pressure, or
Biomass, which will all add to the Ti. Machines can also provide Power (required for the operation of most other machines), take one or multiple input items to produce an item, or passively generate items over time.
Display Screens[]
There are several Display Screens that can be constructed. Each one displays specific information important for accomplishing in-game tasks. The biggest screens are hung on walls, the others aside from the Sign need to be placed on supports of some sort (which can be, for example, the ground, Desks, or other similar sized screens.)
Craft Stations[]
Craft Stations are where the player can build gear of various types to improve their equipment and materials.
There are several other machines and buildings that provide specific crafting opportunities.
Energy Generators[]
In order for most machines to work the Energy being generated must exceed the power required by all machines. All power sources generate energy that combine to power all machines on the planet, there is no range limit, nor any connections required. Only the Nuclear Fusion Generator can be built inside buildings.
Heaters[]
Heaters provide Heat for terraforming the planet. Some heaters also provide
Pressure as a side effect. Planet Crafter does not have currently have a game mechanism for overheating or making the planet too hot.
Drills[]
Drills increase Pressure by releasing gasses trapped in the ground. Some drills also provide
Heat as a side effect.
Plant Growers[]
Plant Growers use flower seeds to generate Oxygen. The T1 & T2 units must be placed inside, the T3 unit is an outdoor machine.
Food Growers[]
Food growers use crop seeds to make food for the player character. Food refills the health stat.
Water Collectors[]
Water Collectors collect and filter water, gradually producing Water Bottles, which the player character can use. Water bottles refill the hydration stat when consumed, or may be used in crafting.
Grass, Flower, Algae and Tree Spreaders[]
Grass and Flower Spreaders are machines that generate grass or flowers in the surrounding area to increase
Biomass. They also produce
Oxygen.
Algae Generators grow underwater Algae and generate
Plants.
Tree spreaders use tree seeds to generate Oxygen and
Plants. The first Tree spreader needs to be built in water (preferably by coastline to spread trees over more land), the others are built on dry land.
Animal Farms[]
Beehives are houses for bees which produce Honey and increase
Insects and
Plants biomass. The Beehive T2 model also produces
Bee Larvae.
Butterfly Farms increase insect Biomass by growing butterflies.
Fish Farms and Aquariums increase animal biomass by growing fish.
The Amphibians Farm increases animal Biomass by growing frogs.
Biodomes[]
Biodomes are self contained buildings that provide the functions of a machine, generating Oxygen or
Biomass or both. They can be added on to existing base buildings (connecting at either end, not the glass sides) or used standalone, with access provided by the addition of a
Living Compartment Door.
Ore Extractors[]
Ore Extractors extract minerals from the ground when placed on a patch of soil. Each ore extractor has one target mineral, determined by where it is placed, that will be the most extracted mineral. Each of the lower level extractors also collects Iron, Cobalt, Magnesium, Silicon and Titanium as byproducts.
Harvesting bot : allows to extract organic items from it's surrounding. Build a T2 Map Information Rocket to see where to place it. Will harvest items depending on the terraforming stage. Check your map regularly to know where to place it
Gas Extractors[]
Gas Extractors extract gases from the ground.
Miscellaneous[]
These machines provide communication, transportation, or otherwise manipulate game resources or other machines.
