Insects is the 10th stage of terraformation. Insects are also one of the three parts that constitute the Biomass Terraformation Index.

Description[]

After reaching the insects stage, players can collect larvae around the planet to produce butterflies, bees and silk worms. The larvae are quite small compared to most other resources, and can be found in most relatively-level terrain including under water. Larvae come in three primary groups: common, uncommon and rare.

These larvae are used with Mutagen and Fertilizer in the craftable Incubator machine to produce useful varieties of insects. Exceedingly rare special butterfly larvae can also be found in certain locations similar to finding harvestable flowers, or may be super rare when randomly generated (confirmed).

This stage leads to Breathable Atmosphere stage.

Units[]

The units used in the game are the extended SI units of mass with SI fractional prefixes. For historical reasons, SI is a little weird for mass in particular, with the standard unit being the kilogram instead of gram, and the non-standard unit Tonne (or metric ton) being also commonly used.
