Planet Crafter Wiki

How to generate[]

Biomass is a Terraformation Index category that is split into 3 units (all measured in grams):

To initially increase plant biomass, the player will need to use Biodome T2, Seed spreaders, Algae Generators, Tree spreaders, Beehives, Ecosystems or Plants Rockets. Also, some more advanced machines will also create plant biomass (see table below).

To initially increase insect biomass, the player will need to either find butterfly larvae or make larvae in an Incubator or Ecosystem, insert them into a Butterfly Dome or Butterfly Farms, build Beehives, Outdoor Farms, or Insect Spreader Rockets. Also, some more advanced machines will also create insect biomass (see table below).

To increase animal biomass, the player will need to find or create Fish eggs to insert them into an Aquarium T1, Aquarium T2, or Fish Farms, or find or create Frog eggs to insert them into an Amphibians Farm. The player can also insert Creature DNA into an Animal Shelter or use an Animals Spreader Rocket.

Rockets do not generate biomass by themselves, but multiply the output of the related machines considerably by 12.5 to 17.5.

Units[]

The units used in the game are the extended SI units of mass with SI fractional prefixes. For historical reasons, SI is a little weird for mass in particular, with the standard unit being the kilogram instead of gram, and the non-standard unit Tonne (or metric ton) being also commonly used.

Gram g 10−6 tonnes 0.000001 t 0.001 kg -
Kilogram kg 10−3 tonnes 0.001 t - 1,000 grams
Tonne t - - 1,000 kg 1,000,000 grams
Kilotonne kt 103 tonnes 1,000 t 1,000,000 kg 109 grams
Megatonne Mt 106 tonnes 1,000,000 t 109 kg 1012 grams
The earth has 560 Mt of Biomass, can your planet beat earth?

Production ranks[]

Note that production values may increase when different species of Seeds, butterfly larvae, Fish eggs, or Frog eggs are used. Only some production values are increased, depending on the machine or building, and are marked with a + in the table below.

Blueprint rewards[]

Attaining a certain amount of biomass will unlock several blueprints for each type and also for the the total of it. For details refer to the blueprint page.
